Krister comes to painting after nearly two decades in design and architecture. His choices in texture and subject are inflected by computer rendering, machine vision, and digital image making.

Part of this training involved many hours involuntarily sitting in renaissance art and architectural history classes - inspiring a life-long and somewhat desperate love of contemporary art. The traces of this classical education effloresce through the gestural layers of oil stick and heavy body acrylic and hold in a kind of tensetgrity the interconnected, interrogative, and insinuating realities that find themselves captured all at once on the canvas, board, cold-pressed cotton, and yupo.
